New Plantings in the garden

Today was a lovely day and I took advantage of the weather. I worked with Alison and we planted the bulbs we bought at Christmas. We put 20 Ornithogalum umbellatum, and 3 Frittilaria persica in the front garden bed. They should give us a good show later in the year.

End of 2020 in the chrysanthemum series

Today, 29th January is a lovely day, after an extremely wet day yesterday.

I followed up on last weeks lifting of the Alouise Pink chrysanthemums by doing the Max Riley chrysanthemums today. They are lifted and put in trays so I can take cuttings for next year in a few days time.

Wednesday 16 December 2020

After 2 good days in the garden I have pruned all the old growth of the Max Riley's and the Alouise Pinks.

I have found Pot Black, a lovely Red.

The Hesketh Knights are in full bloom.

Another good day today.

Tuesday 1 December 2020

I have just found this blog after some time. I will now try to keep it alive.

2020 has been a hell of a year, coronavirus, Trump and so on. Let us hope 2021 will be a better year.

I had a look at some bronze chrysanthemums,

6th January 2018

6th January 2018

Chrysanthemums have had a back seat for a couple of years, I still have plants, but I need to get some cuttings rooted to go for better plants this year.

My priorities were different for 2016 and 17. I hope to recover for 2018.

20th January 2018

I have started to recover some of the plants from last year.
I have taken 8 cuttings from an Allouise Pink and potted them on in the greenhouse.
I'll do more tomorrow.
